Cruise Operations Coordinator – Permanent – UK – Competitive package
This is a great opportunity to join a reputable Port Agency who are experiencing an excellent period of growth. The role can be based from one of the company’s UK offices or anywhere in the UK, working from home with travel.
The role holder will act as first point of contact for cruise lines and internal and external stakeholders involved with the company’s cruise business in the UK.
Responsibilities include:
- Act as first point of contact for existing cruise line clients for all UK matters including, but not limited to:
- Managing the itinerary planning and port booking process
- Providing up-to-date guidance on current UK regulations
- Coordinating PDAs from local offices and partner agents
- Requesting, tracking and following up on pre-funding from principals as required
- Coordinating FDAs from local offices and partner agents, acting as a sanity check on costs and challenging unexpected or unsupported charges
- Build and maintain a master schedule and planning sheet for cruise bookings, capturing key information such as berths assigned, tidal windows and towage requirements for each call,
- Routinely travel to visit vessels across the UK when they are in port to build relationships
Experience required:
- A good working knowledge of cruise ship port operations and general port agency
- Experience of working for a cruise line or onboard a cruise ship in an operations role
- Experience of working in a customer-facing role in the shipping / maritime industry
- Have worked in a corporate/office environment, preferably with experience being rostered on-call with a duty phone
- Comfortable dealing with different nationalities/cultures and levels of authority
- Ability to prioritise workload to meet strict timelines
- Must have full UK Driving Licence
