HSEQ Manager – (Cruise)

HSEQ Manager (Cruise) – Permanent – Southampton (Hybrid) – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join an International shipping company based in Southampton.

As a senior member of the Management Team, working closely with the HSEQ team you will provide marine support to the Management and Fleet Teams in the office with emphasis on compliance with the Company Procedures, Policies and specific Group Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality initiatives.

Responsibilities include:
* To ensure the safe operation of each ship and to provide a link between the Company and those on board.
* Act as DPA
* To act as Safety Culture “Ambassador”, working in close collaboration with the HSEQ team implementing internal and external safety driven initiatives
* Provide pro-active support to the Fleet Management teams in dealing with all marine, environmental, quality, operational, security and compliance issues
* To lead, manage and mentor the HSEQ Superintendents in order to maximise their full potential
* Compliance with Client expectations including active follow up and close out of issues raised
* Deputise for the GM as a member of the Emergency Response Team as and when required during an emergency.

Experience / Qualifications Required:
* Previous shore based experience in a HSEQ role in ship management
* Hold Class 1 Master Unlimited License (desirable – lower license also considered)
* Experience as DPA / CSO (desirable)
* Seagoing experience as Chief/Safety Officer or above on cruise ships (other vessel background also considered)

You must have the right to work in the UK to be considered. The expectation is of 2 or 3 days in the Southampton office each week. There is an excellent base salary and benefits package on offer for the right candidate.
