TIME FOR SOMETHING NEW?

The start of a new year is a time when many people are after a fresh start, and often this involves finding a new job. A role or career change can be an empowering, life-changing experience. But first, you need to get through the interview process!

Two to three stages within the process is now common and the format has evolved to include the use of multiple platforms, often with several different representatives from an organisation. Whether on the telephone, in person or via Zoom, you’ll likely be faced with an initial screening by the company’s TA team, HR to ensure a cultural fit, and finally an interview with the hiring manager and/or department head to make sure you’re right for the role and will sit well within your prospective team.

Don’t be surprised if you’re also presented with psychometric and behavioural tests; role-specific questionnaires or tests are also common.

  • The average interview process in the UK takes 27.5 days
  • Video interviews increased by 57% between 2019 and 2022
